Our commitment

For Sale By Owner Inc. is committed to making FSBO.ca usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA. That target meets or exceeds Ontario’s AODA Information and Communications Standard (WCAG 2.0 Level AA) and aligns with broader Canadian digital accessibility practice, including Manitoba’s WCAG 2.1 AA expectations where they apply.

Measures we take

  • Semantic structure, landmarks, and skip links so assistive technologies can navigate pages efficiently
  • Keyboard-operable controls and visible focus indicators
  • Text alternatives for meaningful images and labeled form fields
  • Live announcements for important status messages where practical
  • Ongoing remediation of public and account experiences as we improve the site

Known limitations

Some features rely on third-party components that may not fully meet WCAG on their own:

  • Interactive maps (for example Leaflet-based location maps) are primarily pointer-oriented. Listing browse and search results remain available in a keyboard-accessible list view as an equivalent way to find items.
  • Payment checkout (Moneris hosted payment iframe) is provided by a third party; accessibility depends on that provider’s widget. Contact support if you need help completing a purchase.
  • Sign in with Google uses a third-party OAuth flow; accessibility depends on Google’s interface. Email/password login remains available on FSBO.ca.
  • Cross-site site selector (when shown) may load a third-party overlay; the main marketplace remains usable without it.
  • Downloadable PDFs and some legacy documents may not yet be fully accessible. We will provide an accessible alternative on request where feasible.

Technical standard

This statement applies to the public website and customer account experiences on FSBO.ca. Conformance is an ongoing effort; we reassess priority flows regularly and after significant redesigns.
